C f
3rd Quarter 1995,Quarterly Monitoring Report
Former PureGro/Brea Facility
1905 North Broadway Avenue,Stockton,California
Sierra-Pacific Project No.94-055.04
2.0 METHODS
2.1 Water-Level Measurements
The surveyed wells are fitted with permanent aluminum well caps, which screw onto machined
brass collar fittings. Water level measurements were made using an electronic sounding device
(Appendix A). All ground-water elevation measurements were made from the referenced well-
head elevations, measured to the nearest 0.01 foot. Computed ground-water elevations are
relative to mean sea level (Table 1). Three-point calculations were used to predict ground-
water flow directions and potentiometric surface gradients (Table 2). The elevation of the MW-
11 well casing has not been determined by survey. Water level measurements made on
September 18, 1995 were not used to determine the ground-water flow direction. The
potentiometric surface map (Figure 3) was computer-generated using the Surfer computer
 program.
I 2 2. Water quality
` parameters (pH, electrical conductivity, and temperature) were measured as the wells were
purged.. Each of the Broadway Avenue water samples was examined for odors, coloration, and
turbidity.. Saihples were collected after the field parameters stabilized. Field notes are included
in Appendix B. One to five wetted-well-volumes of water were withdrawn from each of the
wells prior to collection of ground-water samples. Water levels recovered-rapidly from purging
and sample collection. Water purged from the wells was placed in 55-gallon drums and staged
[ at the PureGro/Brea site for future disposal.
Sierra-Paciflr Groundwater Consultants 2
