Marc Oler, Shell - 2 - 26 May 2016
Shell Pipeline Tracy, San Joaquin County
Estimate of Work to be Performed and Expected Outcome
Central Valley Water Board staff estimate that staff will perform the following work for the
subject site through the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
1. Review the results of the investigations.
2. Review Soil Management Plan.
3. Conduct site inspections, phone calls, and meetings to keep informed on the progress of
the investigation.
4. Prepare written correspondence, including letters, monitoring programs, review memos,
and Board orders (if needed) to clearly communicate the Board's requirements.
Billing Rates and Estimate of Expected Charges
Central Valley Water Board staff expects to charge about 100 hours in the conduct of cleanup
oversight for this project from now through fiscal year 2016-2017, which runs from 1 July 2015
through 30 June 2017. The number of hours given is merely an estimate, and you will be billed
only for the actual hours spent. The State billing rate is about $150 per hour, but the rate will vary
depending on the salary of the individual(s) responsible for the oversight. Based on the average
rate, the estimated billing charge for this site is about $15,000 through fiscal year 2016-2017.
Attachment 1 lists the billing rates for the classes of employees who may be working on this site,
including an example of how the hourly billing rate is calculated. Attachment 2 describes the
billing process in detail.
Should you have any questions regarding the information in this letter, please call Joe Mello at
(916) 464-4661. For questions regarding the technical aspects of this project, you may call
Kristi Shelton, the Board's project manager, at (916) 464-4819.
r Dory
PAMELA C.
