(AGE) has prepared the enclosed Addendum to Shallow Disposal Well Closure Work Plan for
the property site located at 1565/1621 North Broadway, Stockton,California.
This addendum is prepared in response to a letter received from the San Joaquin County Public
Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) dated 27 July 1999_ AGE has the
following comments for your consideration:
I. The clarifier previously utilized at the site was an steel-constructed industrial waste water
recycling system manufactured by Ultrasorb Systems. The unit was operated above-ground
and was approximately 300 gallons in capacity. Waste water from the steam cleaning
operation was pumped from the sump within the steam cleaning area to the recycling system.
The water was then recycled into the wash rack system; solids from the recycling system
were containerized and disposed in an appropriate manner. Only waste water generated in
excess of recycling capabilities was discharged into the disposal wells. The attached revised
Figure 2 - Site Plan indicates the approximate former location of the recycling system and
piping leading to the dry wells.
2. Sincethe clarifier(recycling system) was located.above-ground, we do not believe a sample
in this area is necessary.
We would like to schedule field work for the end of August I999. We anticipate two days of field
work to complete the abandonment and sampling_ Upon final approval of the Work Plan and
Addendum, we will submit the necessary boring permit and permit fee to the PHS-EHD.
4005 North Wilson Way,Stockton, California 95205
Telephone(209)467-1.006 FAX(209)467-1118
