Water Uses 'r
1. There are five bathrooms at 1565 North Broadway being used by
942 employees. 6
2. Steam 1 Pressure washers. Water that isnot ether steamed off
or evaporated is pumped into a holding tank then pumped into our
three stage washer.
i
3. Three Stage Wash Unit. This unit in past!years ran only one to
one and half shifts per day. Now it runs 24 hours a day 5 days
per week. This unit is gas fired and the temperature is kept just
below boiling. This causes a lot of steam°evaporation, The
excess steam / pressure washer water is .used to refill the three
stage washer. ;f
E
In the past, excess steam/pressure washer water was sent to the dry wells, now
we use the city sewer system.
The three stage washer is cleaned every 90 days. In this process all the water
is pumped through a filter into a holding tank. Then.approximately 30 gallons of
sludge is pumped out and evaporated into a solid. We were told that in doing
this the solids could be disposed of in the solid waste system. Now we are
receivinga special waste drum from George Lowery-Co. which will be picked u
P 9P P
and disposed of through the toxic waste system. Then, the water is filtered back
to the wash unit and topped off with fresh water. `'
E '
r
i!
.t
.t
I
i
}
