Environmental Health Department(EHD)requested UST
be emptied and taken out of service immediately.
12/20/1990 One 10,000-gallon diesel UST ID 39-1027-01,one 500-gallon regular gasoline UST ID 39-1027-02, and
220 feet of remote fill piping were removed from the site and transported to Erickson,Inc.,255 Parr Blvd.,
Richmond. Collection of 5 soil samples from the diesel UST excavation,2 soil samples from the tank
piping, 1 soil sample from the gasoline UST excavation, and 10 soil samples from the remote fill line
occurred. Analytical results indicated contamination in the soil at one location along the fill line, in the
southeast corner of the diesel UST,and in the area of the gasoline UST.
08/14-15/1997 Advancement of soil borings SB-1, S13-2,SB-3,and S134 in the vicinity of the gasoline UST occurred to a
depth of 25 feet below surface grade(bsg). Soil samples and a grab ground water sample were collected for
analyses.
Advancement of SB-5 and SB-6 to 20 feet bsg in the vicinity of the diesel UST,and S13-7 to SB-10 along
the remote fill piping to 10 feet bsg also occurred. Soil samples and a grab ground water sample were
collected for analyses.
09/23/1997 Date of report for the August 1997 work. Analytical results of all the soil samples from SB-5 to SB-10 in
the area of the diesel UST and remote fill piping were non detect. Analytical results of the grab
groundwater samples from SB-5 were all non-detect except 1.2 micrograms per liter(µg/1)of toluene, 1.2
µg/1 of ethyl-benzene,and 8.3 4g11 of xylenes.
Analytical results of the all soil samples in the area of the gasoline UST were all non-detect,except SB 1 at
10 feet bsg. Analytical results of the grab groundwater samples from SB-1 at 15 feet bsg were 30,600µg/1
of gasoline, 20 µg/1 of benzene, 1,400µg11 of toluene,484µg11 of ethyl-benzene,and 6,060µg/1 of xylenes.
02/25/1999 MW-1 was installed in the center of the gasoline UST.
06/01/1999 Date of report for February 1999 work. Analytical results of the soil sample at 23.5 feet bsg were 2.5
milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg)of gasoline and 0.045 mg/kg of xylenes. Results of the first groundwater
sample from MW 1 were 3,900µg/1 of gasoline, 530µg/1 of xylenes,and 12.5 µg/1 of methyl tert-butyl ether
(MTBE).
11/22/2000 Date of Quarterly Report that contained the receptor well survey. No municipal well or drinking water
wells were located within 2,000 feet of the UST. The only wells within 2000 feet of the UST were 6
monitoring wells and one groundwater remediation well with depths between 32 to 42 feet bsg located on
4444 Pershing.
02/19/2001 MW-2,MW-3,MW-4,and MW-5 were installed.
07/13/2001 Date of report for February 2001 work. The results of soil samples collected from all four wells were non-
detect.
05/29/2002 Date of Quarterly Report that shows all groundwater sample results from MW-1 to MW-5 were non-detect
for all analytes(gas,BTEX, 1,2-DCA,EDB,and oxygenates)over the last four quarters of monitoring.
07/30/2002 Date of report with:Hass contamination in the soil calculated by ATC Associates, estimates 47 kilograms of
gasoline. ATC Associates did not calculate the contamination in the water-bearing zone due to non-detect
results.
