1621 Brookside
November 1997 ;
Page 2
The report included the recommendation to install a rri6 nitorn well through the forme
" $ g r tank
location. PHS/EHD concurs with this recommendations. Should higher contamination be
noted in the soil encountered, PHS/£HD would recommend that additional soil borings be
drilled and sampled. The report also indicated that if gasoline hydrocarbons are detected in
the groundwater collected from the monitoring well that a risk-based exposure assessment
would be conducted to evaluate the need for further remedzaiion. If contamination is detected
in the monitoring well at levels that would warrant furrther action, additional investigation will
be required to determine the vertical and horizontal ex`ent of the contamination.
Please prepare a work plan to continue the investigation in the area of the former gasoline
underground storage tank and submit it to PHS/EHD by January 9, 1998. Also, please proceed
with efforts to obtain State Water Resources Control Board Cleanup Fund pre-approval for any M
costs associated with the investigation. !
f
If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me
at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, Director, REHS
Environmental Health Division 3`
Mary Meays,Senior REHS Margare N gorio, RE S
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor`
z#
;y
I cc: Pat Anderson, Central Valley Regional Water Qti lity Control Board
cc: Annabel Mackey,State Water Resources Control iBoard
cc: Charles Leubner, 1932 North E1 Final,Stockton CA 951,205
j
f9
f
f
!
F
E ll
I!
E
