Samples will be <br /> collected, preserved and transported under chain of custody in <br /> -- accordanr_e with EPA protocol . Laboratory analysis of soil <br /> samples will be include benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylenes <br /> ( 8TEX ) , and total petroleum hydrocarbon, (TPH ) as gasoline by <br /> approved EFA Methodologies . A state certified laboratory will be <br /> used to the analyses, as required by law. All excavated <br /> soils wil". be placed on plastic sheeting, covered with same and <br /> mama in on z i to unt i 1 laboratory rusults are received . <br /> Thereafter , a proposal for treatment or disposal of the excavated <br /> material will be prepared . <br /> -� 3 . The wellheads will be surveyed to a common datum and <br /> groundwater levels will be monitored to determine the site <br /> specific groundwater gradient . Free product thickness, if any, <br /> will be monitored using an interface probe . <br /> 4 . Subsequent to installation, water samples will be collected <br /> _ from the monitoring wells .after purging a minimum of four well. <br /> volumes : casing and sandpack ) . The purged water will remain on <br /> site, in secured 55 gallon drums until laboratory results are <br /> received . A proposal for the treatment or disposal of the water <br /> .� produced during well development and sampling will be then be <br /> prepared . Collection and preservation of all water samples will <br /> be in accordance with EPA protocol. . The water samples will be <br /> analyzed by a State certified laboratory for BTEX, and TPH as <br /> gasoline by approved EPA methodologies . <br /> 5 . A Problem Assessment report will be prepared according to <br /> Regional Board guidelines summarizing the findings E the <br /> investigation and recommending remedial action alternatives, as <br /> „w .appropriate .
