Cored soil sampl-s will be collected ,:above the water table
at .a depth of approximately 4 6 feet kor l'abor'atory ,analysis of
gasoline hydrocarbon const1tuento and below the water table at
5elect intervals for determination of soil type . Samples will be
collected, preserved and transported under chain of custody in
-- accordanr_e with EPA protocol . Laboratory analysis of soil
samples will be include benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylenes
( 8TEX ) , and total petroleum hydrocarbon, (TPH ) as gasoline by
approved EFA Methodologies . A state certified laboratory will be
used to the analyses, as required by law. All excavated
soils wil". be placed on plastic sheeting, covered with same and
mama in on z i to unt i 1 laboratory rusults are received .
Thereafter , a proposal for treatment or disposal of the excavated
material will be prepared .
- 3 . The wellheads will be surveyed to a common datum and
groundwater levels will be monitored to determine the site
specific groundwater gradient . Free product thickness, if any,
will be monitored using an interface probe .
4 . Subsequent to installation, water samples will be collected
_ from the monitoring wells .after purging a minimum of four well.
volumes : casing and sandpack ) . The purged water will remain on
site, in secured 55 gallon drums until laboratory results are
received . A proposal for the treatment or disposal of the water
. produced during well development and sampling will be then be
prepared . Collection and preservation of all water samples will
be in accordance with EPA protocol. . The water samples will be
analyzed by a State certified laboratory for BTEX, and TPH as
gasoline by approved EPA methodologies .
5 . A Problem Assessment report will be prepared according to
Regional Board guidelines summarizing the findings E the
investigation and recommending remedial action alternatives, as
„w .appropriate . The field Investigation will be conducted under the
direct supervision of Russell W. Juncal, CA Registered Geologist
No . 3854, who will review and sign the assessment report .
