Buena Vista Avenue
Stockton CA
(APN No.: 135-080-03)
GPE Project No. 480.2
September 26, 2007
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Property consists of a single parcel of industrial use Property encompassing
a total area of about 0.8 acre. It is on the east side of Buena Vista Avenue at the
' terminus against the deep water turning basin and just south the intersection
with Fremont Street. As a part of the remedial investigation,
groundwater monitoring wells were installed which have also been used to
gather information regarding the lateral extent of salt contamination.
1.1 Site Conditions
' The subject Property is the former site of a water softener service company. On
March 9, 2005. Geo-Phase Environmental, Inc. issued a report documenting the
installation of a suite of soil borings intended to explore environmental
' conditions associated with a former underground gasoline tank and the brine pit.
Groundwater samples collected from the borings produced evidence that the
brine pit had leaked and impacted the groundwater with elevated concentrations
' of sodium chloride salt. Early in 2006 four groundwater monitoring wells were
constructed as part of a remedial investigation of the leaking underground tank.
These wells have also been used to monitor the salt impact to the groundwater.
' 2937 Veneman Ave.,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
