Valley Water Treatment page 8
Groundwater Monitoring Well Construction
Project No. 480.2
March 14, 2006
4.0 Monitoring Well Survey
On January 24, 2006, Wong Engineers, Inc. mobilized to the site to survey the
' horizontal and vertical position of each monitoring well using high precision
GPS equipment and tied into a City of Stockton benchmark. The vertical
elevation was determined to an accuracy of 0.01 feet and the horizontal positions
' were determined to an accuracy of 0.1 feet) see Figure 3). This survey data will
eventually be required to be uploaded to the State's "Geotracker" electronic data
reporting system. The data were used to calculate the direction of groundwater
flow at the site, and will also be used in future groundwater monitoring events.
5.0 Receptor Survey
As directed by the San Joaquin County EHD, a receptor survey was completed.
This consisted of requesting the California Department of Water Resources to
' search their records for water production wells that may exist within 2,000 feet
of the point of release (see Figure 1). The records search was supplemented by a
physical search of the area.
' The search conducted by the DWR provided information
on 23 wells. Many of
these wells were groundwater monitoring wells and others were outside the
' search area. Only two wells appeared to be groundwater production wells inside
the designated 2,000-foot search area. The locations of the well are posted on the
' USGS topographic map (Figure 1) and are numbered for reference.
1. Arco Plant, Port of Stockton Tank Farm, Open interval 75-222 feet. This
well is at least 1500 feet south of the point of release.
2. State of CA Irrigation Well, Cornell & 1-5, Open interval, 53-241 feet.
' This well is about least 700 feet northeast of the point of release.
No addition wells were identified in a street reconnaissance of the area.
2937 Veneman Ave.,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
