02 May 2008
AGE-NC Project No. 98-0440
3.0. CONCLUSIONS
The conclusions of the fourth quarter 2007 CPT investigation are as follows:
• Clay and silty clay were encountered from surface grade to approximately 60 feet bsg and
from 86 feet to 88 feet bsg. Sandy silt and clayey silt were encountered from 72 feet bsg to
86 feet bsg and from 88 feet bsg to 110 feet bsg. Sand and stiff fine-grained material were
encountered from 60 feet bsg to 72 feet bsg. A CPT-1 computer-generated boring log is
included in Appendix B.
• Based on ground water samples collected at CPT-1, the vertical extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater is undefined.
4.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon the CPT investigation results during the 4th quarter 2007, AGE recommends
installation of a monitoring well network, screened from 60 to 70 feet bsg,to assess the petroleum
hydrocarbon-impacted ground water at this depth.
5.0. LEVIITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of the geologic/hydro-
geologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number
of available data points(CPT data and ground water samples),and subsurface conditions may vary
away from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made as to the professional
recommendations contained in this report.
Advanced GeoEnvlronmentd,Inc.
