Several containers of various chemical waste were left behind the outside cargo storage container A <br />determination has not been made if these wastes are a hazardous waste. Any person who generates a <br />waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately make a hazardous waste <br />determination for any waste generated from this business, and manage it according the Title 22 <br />hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this <br />waste was managed by 7-23-11. Minor -Notice to Comply. <br />11. Brake dust shavings have been left on the shop floor next to the brake lathe machine. The shop floor <br />next to the technician's work stations and good oil tanks appear to have spilled oil and oil contaminated <br />debris. The used oil tank outside has spilled oil on top of it and also next to it on the ground. Behind the <br />drums of used oil filters outside there is some spilled oil and oil contaminated debris on the ground. <br />Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of <br />hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. <br />Immediately clean up the spilled oil and oil contaminated debris, and manage according to Title 22 <br />hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this <br />waste was managed by 7-23-11. Class II Repeat Violation. <br />20. The five gallon bucket of hazardous waste brake dust shavings lacked an accumulation start date <br />and physical state. The 30 gallon drum of waste diesel fuel lacked a generator address and <br />accumulation start date. The 55 gallon drum of waste hydraulic oil did not have a completed hazardous <br />waste label. The damaged 55 gallon drum of waste gear oil had a blank hazardous waste label. All <br />hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information. <br />1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />2. name and address of generator <br />3. hazardous properties <br />4. physical state <br />5. composition (contents) <br />6. accumulation start date <br />Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required <br />information. Since it cannot be determined how long these hazardous wastes have been on site, <br />immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and <br />submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD by 7-23-11. Class II Repeat Violation. <br />23. Two 55 gallon drums of drained used oil filters lacked accumulation start dates.
