Rooms 158 and 178 have broken locks. Room 178 has a broken window. Outside <br /> of building 4, room 172, there is an extension cord that is plugged into the exterior and runs <br /> across the lawn and sidewalk and goes into a manhole cover. <br /> If these complaint allegations are valid and the violations are present, please take the <br /> following corrective actions. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Within ten (10) days from the date of receipt of this letter, take <br /> all corrective actions necessary to abate the substandard conditions. <br /> Please contact the staff person indicated below to inform them of the status of the complaint <br /> allegations (valid or not valid) and any corrective actions taken, or to be taken, if applicable. <br /> Please be advised that failure to correct substandard housing violations may result in further <br /> enforcement action by the EHD. All enforcement action costs are recovered as specified <br /> below. <br /> AUTHORITY: California Health and Safety Code,Section 17910 at.seq.;San Joaquin County Ordinance Code,Title 8, Division 5. <br /> RECOVERY OF ENFORCEMENT COSTS: Pursuant to San Joaquin County Ordinance Code Section 8-5400(a),"The County shall be <br /> reimbursed for all time,services and materials needed to abate a violation of this division."The current approved EHD hourly rate used <br /> to compute the cost of time spent to investigate,document and abate a violation is$125.00 per hour. <br /> PERMITS: Where structural,electrical,plumbing,or mechanical violations exist,appropriate permits must be obtained from the San <br /> Joaquin County Building Division(SJCBD)prior to rehabilitation. If the structure(s)are to be demolished,a demolition permit must be <br /> obtained from the SJCBD.
