Byron Rd
Tracy, CA 95376
This is to inform you that September 1993 State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) staff with the
Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund Program(Cleanup Fund)will review your file to determine if you
are in compliance with corrective action orders and directives. According to San Joaquin County Public
Health Services,Environmental Health Division(PHS/EHD) files no corrective action has taken place at the
above referenced site to date.
When the two underground storage tanks were removed in November 1991 PHS/EHD staff noted odor and
discoloration on their inspection report. Results of the soil and water samples collected beneath the tanks
at the time of removal confirmed contamination.
Your site has been placed on the contaminated site list maintained by PHS/EHD. In December 1991 an
"Unauthorized Release Report" was completed listing the site on the State contaminated site list. Pursuant
to Section 25299.37 of the Health and Safety Code PHS/EHD is directing you to take corrective action in
response to the unauthorized release from the underground storage tanks.
Compliance with corrective action orders and directives is a requirement for reimbursement of cleanup costs
from the Cleanup Fund.
In order to be in compliance with this directive you must submit a workplan for installation of minimum of
three monitoring wells October 1, 1993. The report of this work must be signed by a California Registered
Geologist, Certified Engineering Geologist or Registered Engineer. A list of consultants that have worked
in this county is enclosed.
If a work plan is not received by the above date and the work is not completed by November 1, 1993
PHS/EHD will notify SWRCB staff that you are not in compliance with our corrective action directive and
your eligibility for cleanup funds will be jeopardized.
If you have any questions, please contact Margaret Lagorio, Senior REHS,of my staff at (209) 468-3449.
Jog Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Officer
Donna Heran, REHS, Program Manager
v Environmental Health Division
DH/ML:Ib
A Division of-San Joaquin Counry Health C.uc xrnccs C
