III . DESCRIPTION OF FIELD WORK
Using the centerline of Byron Road, a line parallel to said road
was surveyed to estabish a staked reference line for the location
of nine soil borings, 200± feet apart. The reference line stakes
were located by engineer' s stations 10+00 through 28+00. Station
10+00 is marked by a spike placed in the west edge of the road surface
of Corral Hollow Road, approximately 175 feet south of the centerline
of Byron Road, the right-of-way width of which is 50 feet. Beginning
with Station 10+00, stations were marked at 200± feet intervals
through Station 28+00. Station 28+00 is located near the west
property line of the parcel of and. owned by Sunboro Development
being east of the north-south alignment of the West Side Irrigation
{~ District's canal . The soil borings sere drilled 25 feet north of
the staked reference line (125 feet south of Byron Road's south
boundary) to assure that the relocation of the soil borings could
be made if necessary.
On September 8, 1988, North Valley Drilling Company, Lodi , California,
California License #418834, started drilling soil borings at the
Sunboro Development site, following la work plan approved by the
San Joaquin Local Health District, Hazardous Waste Division, 1601
Hazelton, Stockton, California.
The firm of Adleson, Hess, Christense & Kelly, San Jose, California
hired Terrestrial Technology, Inc. ofI Davis, California (California
Civil No. 17381) to provide technical and engineering services for
this work. Terrestrial Technology, Inc. hired North Valley Drilling
Company, Lodi , California (California License # 418834) to drill
the soil boring then backfill and seal the bore holes. Terrestrial
Technology, Inc. prepared the soil Isamples and delivered them to
Eureka Laboratories, 3401 La Grande Boulevard, Sacramento, California,
a California Certified iaboratory.1 During the soil boring,
representatives of the Sunboro Development Corporation were present
most of the time.
Drilling started on September 8, 1988 and was completed on September
r 12, 1988. The San Joaquin Local Health District staff observed
sealing of the borings on September 12, 1988.
Following is a brief description of the soil boring, logging and
profile of soil from each drill hole, sampling and transport for
laboratory analysis and the laboratory analysis results.
F
F
F
F,
