LEVI N E•FRICKE
Based on review of topographic maps, the San Joaquin County Flood
Control and Water Conservation District ground-water contour map
(Spring 1988) , and a report of recent investigation of an
adjacent property (Terrestrial Technology, Inc. , October 1988) ,
depth to shallow ground water at the site is at or below 5 feet.
Therefore, we do not expect to encounter ground water in the
excavation pits.
Soil Sampling Work Plan
The Site will be divided into four equally sized areas. Soil
samples will be collected from approximately 1- and 3-foot depths
at three to four randomly selected locations within each area.
Excavation will be accomplished using a backhoe; samples will be
collected using trowels or brass tubes.
A site map showing the areas and the approximate sampling loca-
tions is attached. The actual location is subject to change
based on field conditions at the time of collection.
The soil samples will be analyzed for the selected, persistent
agricultural chemical residues chlorinated pesticides and
herbicides, using EPA Methods 8080 and 8150, respectively, and
the metals arsenic, mercury, and lead using atomic adsorption.
If you have any questions regarding this plan, please contact me
or Beth Gurney.
Si ere y,
Q
Kati Neidig
Project Scientist
Enclosure - a
-2_
f
