This work plan
discusses the objective of the investigation and methods of
investigation.
Objective
The objective of this investigation is to assess the extent of
petroleum-affected soils along the northern boundary of Sunboro's
Parcel B, adjacent to Byron Road. The location is shown on the
Site vicinity map, Figure 1. The investigation will consist of
the following tasks: drilling soil borings, collecting soil
samples, laboratory analyses of selected soil samples, data
analysis, and report preparation. The report will present and
evaluate the data collected and provide recommendations for
further soil and/or ground-water investigation, if necessary.
Drilling Soil Borings
To supplement the existing data regarding the presence of
petroleum-affected soils along the northern boundary of the site,
drilling of ten to fifteen soil borings is planned along the
property line, using a hollow-stemlauger drill rig. The
borings will be 6 inches in diameter. Levine•Fricke will
subcontract the services of Spectrum Exploration of Stockton to
conduct the drilling. Address and license information for
Spectrum is included on the permit application. The proposed
borings will extend to a depth of 15 to 20 feet below ground
surface and be spaced approximately 150 feet apart. Based on
conditions encountered during drilling, the spacing and/or depth
may be modified. The anticipated boring locations are shown on
Figure 2.
1900 Powell Street, 12th Floor
Emeryvllle, California 94608
(415) 652-4500
Other offices in NEWPORT BEACH and OAKLAND, CA
