Box 6012 <br /> San Ramon, CA 94583-0712 <br /> FOURTH QUARTER 2004 GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT AND 2004 ANNUAL <br /> SUMMARY -MOUNTAIN HOUSE CREEK RESTORATION PROTECT, MOUNTAIN <br /> HOUSE, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> We have reviewed the Mountain House Treatment System, Fourth Quarter 2004 Monitoring and <br /> Sampling Report, October-December 2004 Performance Report, and Annual Summary, Mountain House <br /> Creek Reconstruction Project document dated 26 January 2005. The fourth quarter 2004 (Q4 2004) and <br /> Annual Summary document was prepared for ChevronTexaco by Science Applications International <br /> Corporation (SAIC). <br /> The report was prepared in accordance with the Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP)under <br /> General Order No. R5-2003-0044, Land Disposal of Groundwater of Surface Water from Cleanup of <br /> Petroleum Pollution (General Order). The General Order and Notice of Applicability No. R5-2003- <br /> 004414 were approved by Regional Board staff 22 July 2004. The"Reporting" section of the MRI' <br /> specifies that Quarterly reports be submitted by the 30th day of the month following the end of the <br /> calendar quarter; annual reports are due by the 30th day following the end of the calendar year. <br /> The report summarizes analytical results of samples obtained from groundwater extracted during <br /> monthly sampling events. Groundwater was extracted from construction dewatering wells associated <br /> with the replacement bridge for Mountain House Creek. Treatment is conducted onsite utilizing <br /> sediment settling tanks and granular activated carbon(GAC) vessels. The treated wastewater is <br /> discharged to Field G located west of the project site. <br /> The system is designed to treat up to 450 gallons per minute (gpm), but has operated at approximately <br /> 300—350 gpm on a continuous basis since startup in July 2004. Based on SAIC's global positioning <br /> system (GPS) survey of Field G, approximately seven to ten percent of the fields' surface has received <br /> treated groundwater without ponding and/or runoff. During the fourth quarter, the analysis of influent <br /> groundwater entering the system for treatment ranged from non-detect to 85 µg/L total petroleum <br /> California Environmental Protection Agency <br /> C,i Recycled Paper <br />
