10. Signs shall be covered and/or removed when it is no longer required or work has <br /> ceased. <br /> 11. Add "Flag-person" ahead and "Prepare to Stop" signs to warn motorist of <br /> Flagmen ahead if 1-way operation is required. <br /> 12. Excavations shall either be filled by the end of each work day or covered with a <br /> steel plate and ramped (if within the traveled way) with 2-feet of temporary <br /> asphalt concrete. <br /> 13. The minimum height of all traffic cones shall be 28-inches (0.7m) and post tubes <br /> 36-inches (09m) and placed a maximum of 50-feet apart on tapers and 100-feet <br /> apart on tangents. <br /> 14. All signs and temporary markings shall conform to Caltrans and MUTCD <br /> requirements. <br /> 15. Placement of all traffic control devices shall conform,to the latest issue of <br /> WATCH (Work Area Traffic Control Handbook) as prepared by the Uniform <br /> Practices and Utility Coordination Committee of the southern chapter of the <br /> American Public Works Association. <br /> 16. Local driveways shall remain accessible at all times and any damage caused by <br /> construction or construction vehicles shall be repaired to the satisfaction of the <br /> property owner within 24-hours. <br /> 17. Electronic Arrow Boards shall be used if construction work infringes into the <br /> travel way. <br /> 18. All construction equipment and personnel operating or working on or adjacent to <br /> the Public Rights of Way shall conform to the rules and regulations promulgated <br /> in the California Vehicle Code. <br /> 19. All debris, dirt, asphalt resulting from the work and/or caused by construction <br /> vehicles tracking material onto the traveled way of Byron Road shall be swept up <br /> immediately. <br /> 20. Based on the application, the full width of traveled way of Byron Road shall be <br /> kept open at all times as work will be performed outside of the traveled way. Any <br /> blockage of the lanes will require the submittal of traffic control plans for lane <br /> blockages to MHCSD for review and approval. <br /> Table 5 as attached to SAIC Encroachment Permit Application is acceptable only for <br /> work outside the edge of travel way. <br /> The"WATCH TRAFFIC CONTROL HANDBOOK" noted in Item 9 above should be <br /> utilized for typical sign and cone placements, tapers, lane widths, clearance to obstacles, <br /> and flagging procedures. <br /> Lastly, it is recommended that the area of the proposed encroachment permit work be <br /> reviewed by the MHCSD field inspector prior to commencement of the work, taking note <br /> and photos of any current damage to existing traffic control devices, pavement damage, <br /> etc. to allow assessment of any future damages caused by the contractor. <br /> Adam P.
