Analyze the soil
samples collected from 5 and 10 f,et BSG for TRPH, select metals (cadmium, chromium,
lead, nickel, and zinc), and ethylene glycol;
' • Hand-auger one soil boring to 15 feet BSG in the exposed soil located in the concrete cutout
between the"hot wash tank" and the on-SITE structure and collect soil samples at 10, and
15 feet BSG. Analyze the soil s ples collected from 10 and 15 feet BSG for TRPH;
• Drill and install one temporary monitoring well to 75 feet BSG and collect one groundwater
1 sample, and analyze for chlorinated solvents; and
' • Prepare a summary report documenting the investigative procedures and summarizing the
field and laboratory analytical findings.
1 4.0 PROPOSED INVESTIGATIVE PROCEDURES
This preliminary soil assessment will consist of a field investigation, a laboratory testing program,
and preparation of a summary report. Stan and operating procedures(SOPS)relevant to the field and
laboratory activities,are described in App ndix A. Copies of the permit applications and the signed
1 access agreements for the two property owners (Mr. Michael Oilvarez, and Mr. Bob Franco) are
included in Appendix C. The
' locations of the proposed soil borings may be modified in the field based on field sampling activities
and/or the location of underground utiliti s.
! At 300 California Street one soil boring -1)will be completed to 10 feet BSG in the vicinity of
the clarifier located inside the structure, d soil samples will be collected for analysis. hi addition,
three soil borings(HA-2 through HA-4)will be completed to 5 feet BSG in the area of stained soil
' observed along the eastern edge of the concrete apron outside of the structure.
At 323 American Street two soil borings -5 and HA-6)will be completed to 10 feet BSG in the
! vicinity of the clarifier and the hydraulic 'ft located inside of the existing structure.
At 328 California Street three soil boring s (HA-7 through HA-9)will be completed to 5 feet BSG
in the vicinity of the"dip tanks"observed within the existing structure,and two soil borings(HA-10
and HA-11)will be completed to 10 and 15 feet BSG in the vicinity of the"hot wash tank"observed
just to the east of the structure.
! The soil samples will be collected in stah dess steel sleeves using a core sampling device equipped
with an impact hammer after first hand-a igering to the specified depth.
