•
City of Stockton Redevelopment Agency B34604.01 c
June 1, 2001 Page 2
328 California Street:
Additional soil samples will be collected adjacent to sample HA-7 and to the north, south, and west
of sample HA-7 at 1, 5, 10, and 15 feet BSG if possible due to restricting site conditions inside the
structure(see Drawing 2). These soil sam les identified as HA-15,HA-16,HA-17,HA-18,and HA-
19 will be analyzed for Total Lead. (Note: If elevated concentrations of lead are detected in the
samples a Waste Extraction Test will be run on the sample.
The soil samples HA-15,HA-16, and FD L-19 located within the on-site structure will be collected
by first hand-augering to the selected depi h and then driving a pre-cleaned stainless steel sleeve into
the target depth. The two samples HA-1 and HA-18 located outside of the structure will be drilled
using a hollow-stem auger portable drib i ig. Sample HA-17 will be angled in order to collect a soil
sample at 10 and 15 feet BSG from beneath the "dip tanks", and sample HA-18 will be drilled
vertically to the north of HA-17. Samp es will be sealed with Teflon tape and plastic end caps,
labeled, placed on ice, and delivered to a state certified laboratory, along with chain-of-custody
documentation.
The information obtained from this additipnal sampling will be combined with the information from
the original sampling during the Phase II investigation to assess the vertical and lateral extent of lead
impacted soil detected in sample HA-7 d ring the Phase II Investigation.
Following the completion of the sampling all borings will be backfilled with either neat cement or
hydrated bentonite chips to within 1 foot of the surface, and then completed to match existing site
conditions. All soil cuttings will be stored in 55-gallon drums labeled and stored on-site in a secured
location.
All additional sampling will be proposed in this Work Plan amendment will be carried out in
accordance with the procedures established in the original Work Plan and Twining's Standard
Operation Procedures.
