California Street SITE CODE: #1687
Stockton CA 95202
In correspondence dated December 22, 2004 you were directed by San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJC/EHD)to submit a work plan to investigate the
vertical and lateral extent of the petroleum hydrocarbon contamination noted at the above
referenced contaminated underground storage tank (UST) site. The work plan was due
for submittal no later than February 1, 2005, but has not been received by this office.
On January 25, 2005 a limited overexcavation of the former UST pit area was conducted.
One soil sample was collected from the bottom of the excavation, documented at 17 feet
below surface grade. Analytical results reported 3,800 milligrams per kilogram total
petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel in the sample. Analytical results for volatile
hydrocarbons and oxygenate additives were all non-detect at elevated detection limits.
Please proceed with submittal of the previously directed work plan to investigate the
vertical and lateral extent of the reported contamination, in both soil and groundwater.
The work plan is due for submittal to SJC/EHD no later than April 8, 2005.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department

Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Margare Lagorio, Supervising REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: James Barton, CVRWQCB
