N
Lori Duncan [EH]
From: Ally Colavita [acolavita@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Friday, October 26, 2007 3: 18 PM
To : Lori Duncan [EH]
Cc: wlittle@advgeoenv.com; Robert Marty
Subject: Stallworth Auto Sales, 602 N . California
Attachments: 04 Stallworth A-A' with he 1007 Model (1 ). pdf; Stallworth Site Plan 0607 .pdf
Hi Lori---
I met with Bill earlier today and we discussed the recommendation for a dual phase (DPE) pilot study at Stallworth
Auto Sales on 602 N . California .
The recommendation for DPE was made in order to remediate the contaminated soil within the saturated zone
(approximately 30 feet bsg and below). MWAA and B would be suitable wells for a DPE pilot study as they are
screened from 20-40 and 30-50 feet bsg , respectively. Minor free product was observed during the drilling of well
MW-8, at the proposed location of the DPE pilot study (the area of MW-1A/B; attached site plan).
DPE from MW-1A1B would reach the soil contamination within the saturated zone if draw down is achieved . The
argument is that SVE would be effective in remediating the upper 30 feet of soil (vadose zone), but would not be
able to reach the deeper contamination (as seen in the cross section attached) within the saturated zone.
In addition , the current SVE wells could be utilized with a DPE system; essentially the SVE wells would be
plumbed into the DPE system , vapor and minor water content would be extracted from these wells. Therefore,
DPE has the potential to clean the shallow and deep soil contamination while treating the upper zone ground
water contamination .
We would like to do a DPE pilot study to evaluate the cleanup of the secondary source (at Stallworth Auto Sales)
utilizing wells MW-1AIB and VW- 1 . I appreciate you taking the time to review this matter, and if you have any
questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Have a good weekend ,
Ally Colavita
Staff Environmental Scientist
Advanced GeoEn- or mental, Inc.
837 Shaw Road, Stockton, CA 95215
Phone : (209) 467- 1006
Fax: (209) 467-1118
acolavita aradvgeoenv.corn
www. advgeoenv .com
This email/fax message is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged
information.
