Installation of one geoprobe direct push soil boring for investigation of the lateral extent of the shallow groundwater
contamination.
2. Installation of rico deep, discretely screened groundwater monitoring wells for investigation of the vertical extent of
the groundwater contamination near the source area. One well will be screened at approximately 150 feet bsg; the
other will be screened at approximately 200 feet bsg. -
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
1 . The CPT investigation discussed in this work plan was previously proposed, and approved. Two mobilizations of
fieldwork have attempted without success to drill on Oak Street in the city right-of-way. Underground utilities and
artifacts prevented completion of the work both times. SJC/EHD does not believe the field conditions have changed
and that the boring will need to he moved to the property- immediately south of Oak Street. Please proceed with
obtaining an access agreement with the offsite property owner to continue the lateral groundwater investigation.
2. The borings for the deep monitoring wells should be continuously cored at depth to allow placement of the screen
interval in an appropriate water bearing interval. SJC/EfID recommends a maximum screen interval of 5 feet.
3. Parcel location of the proposed geoprobe boring must be decided before a permit can be issued. SJC/EHD rec- .
commends that a north/south transect of three or four boxings be advanced on the 521 Oak Street site, to cover the
historical spread of groundwater flow direction.
4. Please proceed with submittal of a San Joaquin County- well permit application for each parcel of land on which
drilling will take place, Access agreements from offsite property owners must be submitted with the permits. -
5. Forty eight hours notice to SJC/EHD is required prior to any site fieldwork. - -
6. A report of findings must be submitted to SJC/EHD within 60 days following completion of all fieldwork.
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
