07 March 2014 AGE Project No . 99-0682 Page 2 of 5 The assessment activities will consist of the following tasks : • Permitting and pre-field work activities ; • Advancement of soil borings for collection of groundwater samples ; • Sample analysis ; • Soil boring abandonment; and • Report preparation . Each of these tasks is discussed below in detail . 2 . 1 . PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK PREPARATIONS An access agreement or City of Stockton encroachment permit will be secured to perform this scope of work . Applicable soil boring permits will be obtained from SJCEHD . An update to the health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities ( National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration , U . S . Coast Guard and U . S . Environmental Protection Agency , 1985) . Prior to mobilization , the area of excavation will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert. The SJCEHD will be contacted at least 48 hours prior to conducting any field work. 2 . 2 . SOIL PROBE BORING AND SAMPLING AGE proposes to advance a total of three (3) soil probe borings utilizing a direct push drilling rig to assess the down-gradient lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon- impacted groundwater. Proposed soil boring locations are depicted in Figure 3 . A description of proposed soil boring locations is provided below: • One soil boring will be advanced at 548 East Park Street, approximately 125 feet northeast of MW- 10 . If access to 548 East Park Street cannot be secured the boring will be relocated to the city of Stockton sidewalk along North American Street, approximately 170 feet northeast of MW- 10 ; the boring will advanced to approximately 70 feet bsg for the collection of grab groundwater samples to assess the down-gradient lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater. • One soil boring will be advanced at 548 East Park Street, approximately 115 feet north-northeast of MW- 10 . If access to 548 East Park Street cannot be secured the boring will be relocated to the city of Stockton sidewalk along North American Advanced GmEnvironmen[al Inc .
