i <br /> 28 August 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 98-0481 <br /> Page 7of8 <br /> 4.1 SOIL PROFILE <br /> Generally, silt with sand was encountered from surface grade to 5 feet bsg. Fine to medium sand with <br /> silt is present from 5 feet to 20 feet bsg. Silty clay and medium sand were encountered at 23 feet bsg. <br /> Medium sand and clayey silt were encountered at 40 feet bsg, and brown, moist, silt with sand was <br /> Iencountered at 50 feet bsg. Boring logs are included in Appendix A. <br /> 4.2 FIELD EVIDENCE OF HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED SOIL AND GROUND WATER <br /> No hydrocarbon odor was noted in soil samples collected from SB-3 and SB-4. No hydrocarbon odor <br /> was noted in the grab ground water sample collected from soil boring SB-4. <br /> Organic vapor was not detected in soil samples collected from SB-3 and SB-4 using a PID. <br /> I <br /> 4.3 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> A total of three soil samples were submitted to a DHS-certified laboratory (McCampbell Analytical <br /> Inc.) for analysis as noted above. TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX compounds, and the suite of five fuel <br /> oxygenating compounds were not detected at or above the laboratory reporting limits in any of the <br /> soil samples submitted for analysis. <br /> IAnalytical results of soil samples are summarized in Tables 3 & 4. The laboratory report <br /> (McCambell Analytical Inc. Lab I.D. 32604 through 32606) and chain--of-custody are included in <br /> IAppendix B. <br /> I4.4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> The grab ground water sample collected from boring SB-4 was submitted to a DHS-certified <br /> laboratory for analysis as noted above. None of the analytes were detected at or above the laboratory <br /> reporting limits in the grab ground water sample collected. <br /> Analytical results of the ground water sample are summarized in Tables 3 and 4. The laboratory <br /> report (McCampbell Analytical Inc. Lab ID 32603) and chain-of-custody are included in <br /> Appendix B. <br /> Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc. <br />
