Vogue Cleaners 1 Helen t ',_jins
2315 N. California St., Stockton
Unless your consultant can show that this is nc t so, MW-1 is to be destroyed and E
replaced with two wells having separate casin s (clustered) installed in the same
area and designed to monitor each sand zone ndividually.
Based on the above evaluation of the known, xisting impact to the ground water
and with FE's estimated contaminant mass of 33 Kg of 1,2-DCA still remaining
(possibly an over-estimation), SJCEHD canno concur with recommendations for
site closure (no further action). The plume is of adequately characterized -- the
vertical extent and the lateral extent in most directions are not delineated.
Further investigation is required. Please submit a work plan for additional site
assessment by May 31, 2005.
The State Water Resources Control Board lean Up Fund (CUF) is reviewing
reimbursement claims and denying reimbursements for corrective actions taken
for releases of contaminants not related to qualified UST releases. Corrective
actions involving PCE and TCE and their degradation products are receiving
CUF scrutiny. Please have your consultant -eview the site data and submit a
report demonstrating the relationship or lack of relationship of the chlorinated
hydrocarbons detected in your investigation to your qualified UST release.
Please submit the report by June 3G, 2005 If additional data is needed to
resolve this issue, please include any additional data acquisition activities in the
work plan due May 31, 2005.
Please contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 or Nuel Henderson at (209)
468-3436 if you have any questions.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Departme
Michael J.
