I also take into consideration how REM DIATION that has been conducted and
the residual mass numbers are compared with the initial mass estimates (pre remediation).
since you're splitting hairs with me and this well destr iction is on the schedule for a year from
now and stil going, I will need to see each set of data you're putting your hopes on for that well
getting pressure grouted. IF/WHEN i get the work pie n for the well destructions, I will check all
the lab data I can find for each well proposed for Pressure grouting.
gw hits disqualify that well for pressure grout.
if other data is available to counter the gw water data I'll need to see it.
conditions that I use to qualify the well for pressure grout:
#1. first consideration goes to current gw data. any detections = no pressure grout. that's for
any chemical analyzed for.
#2. lacking current gw data, default to the LAST gw data for well. (mw that may now be dry, IT
use the last wet sample data). or if well not sampled f r years (obstructed, inaccessible, etc),
then use the data from the last sample date. if detect tiles found, well does NOT qualify for
pressure grout. if well 'was' sampled for other than L FT CDCs way back when and had hits
and the well hasn't been analyzed for that COC since, it's dirty still. no pressure grout. either
get current data for that COC or plan on 'removing the contents of the well'.
#3, if NOT a gw well, then default to soil data. Most current soil data is used to evaluate for
pressure grout. if only 'installation' data is availble and it had hits, = no pressure grout. if there
is more current soil data, say confirmation soil boring data, very close soil boring or any more
current soil data is available, I'll evaluate it. Either way, the most current date of the soil data is
what I go to first. examples of this type of well are va Jose wells/soil borings, i.e: SVE wells,
Geoprobes, older soil borings, or recent pre-NFA con irmation soil borings done in the 'general'
area of the non-gw well. lacking any of these criteria, go to #4.
#4. no lab data is available: if for some/any reason the well was installed w/o any sampling
(soil OR gw) and NO data exists to verify the historical or current status of the soil or gw in the
6/9/2011
