The well"s conductor casing can
remain, but the PVC casing, filter pack and grout between the PVC casing and metal conductor casing are to be
removed. The resulting boring filled under pressure from bottom to surface with 10.3 Sack sand/cement grout
to a mushroom cap at 3 feet below grade.
Contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Adrienne
Adrienne Ellsaesser, REHS
Acting Program Coordinator
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton , CA 95205
Ph (209)468-0343
Fax (209)468-0341
aellsaesser@s-icehd.com
From: Francini, Catherine [mailto:Catherine.Francini@stantec.com]
Sent: Wedriesday, July 11, 2012 3:44 PM
To: Adrienne Ellsaesser [EH]
Cc: Morescalchi, Sergio; Westhoff, Brian; Herrmann, Patrick; Vicki McCartney [EH]
Subject: RE: BP 2186 Well Destruction (3212 North California Street)
Hi Adrienne,
Thanks for your reply. To summarize, for VW-1A/B and VW-2A/B we will proceed as stated in the previous
email. We will remove the top 3 ft. of well casing following pressure grout_ A concrete cap will be placed on the
top of the remaining well casing with a diameter permissible by well vault dimensions. The entire well vault void
will be filled with engineered materials from total depth to surface to match existing grade.
I have attached the well construction details and the MW-1 D bore log for further information as you requested.
Please note that the conductor casing information is located in the bore log attachment in the comment section of
page 4 of 5. Also note the conductor casing was originally installed as a permanent barrier between the shallow
and deep groundwater bearing zones.
7/11/2012
