(Stantec) is forwarding the Quarterly Status Summary Report (QSSR) — First
Quarter 2012 (1Q12) for ARCO Service Station No. 2186, located at 3212 North California
Street in Stockton, California (site).
Site Description
The site is an active ARCO Service Station located on the corner of North California Street and
Alpine Street in Stockton, California. The service station is currently comprised of a mini-mart;
two 20,000-gallon, double-walled, fiberglass underground storage tanks; associated product
lines; and two dispenser islands. The majority of the subject property is covered with an
asphalt-paved parking lot and common landscaping. The site is bound to the east and to the
south by residential properties, to the west by a commercial property, and north by a city park.
According to the United States Geological Survey topographic map dated 1987, the elevation of
the site is approximately 15 feet (ft) above mean sea level on relatively flat terrain. The closest
open body of water is the Calaveras River, located approximately 4,000 ft north of the site. No
changes have been made to the previous investigations and site history since the report
submittal of Semiannual Groundwater Monitoring Report Second Quarter 2011 dated
September 19, 2011.
Sensitive Receptors
EMCON of Sacramento, California conducted a well search at the California Department of
Water Resources in 1996 to identify water supply wells located within a half-mile radius of the
subject site. One municipal well and seven domestic wells were identified during the search.
The nearest municipal well is located approximately 1,100 ft to the north and the three nearest
domestic wells are located approximately 2,000 ft to the northwest of the site.
In 1998, Pinnacle Environmental identified a water supply well owned by the City of Stockton
located approximately 1,100 ft west of the site. This well was reportedly situated in Oak Park.
2186 QSSR 1Q12.doc 1
