Product Delivery Line and Dispenser Removal and Verification Soil Sampling
Pinnacle proposes to conduct the following scope of work associated with product
delivery line and dispenser removal and verification soil sampling activities
Pinnacle will observe the removal of the existing product delivery lines and dispensers
and collect one soil sample every 20 linear feet beneath the former product lines and one
soil sample beneath each of the former dispensers Soil samples will be collected under
the direction of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services or Fire Department
representative Soil samples will be collected at approximately 1 foot below the former
product lines and dispensers using 2-inch-diameter handauger and hand-operated
percussion sampling equipment The percussion sampler will be equipped with stainless
steel sample tubes and will be driven beyond the bottom of the handaugered borehole The
sample tube will be sealed with Teflon tape and plastic end caps and labeled with project
number, sample designation, and sampling date The sample will be placed in an ice chest
and logged on chain-of-custody documentation Sampling equipment will be
decontaminated between sample locations to prevent cross contamination of samples
Verification soil samples will be submitted to a state-certified analytical laboratory for
analyses of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) and benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) using U S Environmental Protection Agency
(USEPA) Modified Methods 8015 and 8020, respectively, oxygenates (methyl tert butyl
ether, tertiary butyl alcohol, di-isopropyl ether, ethyl tertiary butyl ether, and tertiary amyl
CP lE 1ARC012186\REP0RTS\21&6P101 DOC-9811% 1
