(PEG),presents results of the <br /> underground storage tank (UST) and associated product line removal activities at the site <br /> referenced above (Figures 1 and 2). The UST and product line removal was outlined in <br /> PEG's Revised Work Plan for Underground Storage Tank Replacement(Work Plan),dated <br /> October 13, 1997. The Work Plan was tentatively approved by Mr. Mike Infurna of the <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department in a letter dated October 31, 1997. <br /> This work was performed to address areas of soil saturated with hydrocarbons using <br /> limited over-excavation or other appropriate methods based on the levels encountered and. <br /> to upgrade underground facilities to comply with 1998 UST standards. Field and <br /> laboratory procedures are presented as Attachment A. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at the intersection of Cambridge Street and Louise Avenue in Lathrop, <br /> California. The site is an operating Circle K service station and mini-mart that retails <br /> gasoline fuel. The site currently contains three gasoline USTs (two 10,000-gallon capacity <br /> and one 4,000-gallon capacity)and associated product lines and dispensers. <br /> REMEDIAL ACTIVITY <br /> Remedial activities conducted at the subject Circle K facility included source removal of <br /> obviously impacted soil and groundwater during UST removal and replacement, in <br /> accordance with the approved Work Plan. A total of approximately 1,241 tons of <br /> hydrocarbon-impacted soil was removed from the site. Removed soil comprised of over- <br /> excavated material from the former UST locations and soil removed to accommodate <br /> installation of new USTs.
