PACIFIC <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> GROUP, 1NC <br /> AN®cor,IFaM <br /> FLE <br /> yri <br /> March 11, 1999 <br /> Project 911-005 113 <br /> Mr Edward C Ralston- <br /> Tosco Marketing Company <br /> 13 80 Lead Hill Road, Suite 120 <br /> Roseville, California 95661 Y <br /> Re Offsite Research and Sensitive Receptor Survey <br /> Tosco (Circle K) Store 1205 APER 2 6 1999 <br /> 16470 Cambridge Streetl`1'rCl .ut� y ENTAL <br /> Lathrop, California PERMIT SERN110ES <br /> Dear Mr Ralston <br /> This letter presents the results of an offsite research and a sensitive receptor survey <br /> performed by IT Group (IT, formerly Pacific Environmental Group) near the site referenced <br /> above (Figures 1 and 2) This survey was conducted as outlined in the Work Plan for <br /> Additional Site Assessment submitted on June 10, 1998 by IT and approved by Mr Michael <br /> Infurna from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services on July 2, 1998 The purpose of <br /> this investigation was to evaluate the presence of potential sensitive receptors and potential <br /> offsite sources near the site <br /> The tasks included in this survey were as follows <br /> • Well Search at the Department of Water Resources <br /> • Research City of Lathrop Drinking Water Source and Sensitive Receptors <br /> • Research City of Lathrop Public Utilities for Preferential Pathways <br /> • Obtain VISTA Report of potential offsite sources <br /> SITE BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS INVESTIGATION <br /> The site is an active Circle K Facility located at 16420 Cambndge Street in Lathrop, <br /> California On November 10, 1997 three underground storage tanks (USTs),product <br /> dispensers, and associated product lines were removed from the site Approximately 1,240 <br /> tons of hydrocarbon-impacted soil was removed from beneath the USTs and in the area of the <br /> 40J new UST pit and transported to Forward Landfill in Manteca for disposal In addition, <br /> approximately 17,000 gallons of hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater were removed from the <br /> new UST pit and transported to a permitted facility for treatment <br /> 11315 Sunrise Gold Circle, Suite M • Rancho Cordova,California 95742-6534 (916) 858-2350 FAX (916) 858-2355 <br />
