The purpose of this
work is to define the vertical and horizontal extent of gasoline hydrocarbons in soil and
groundwater on site This will be accomplished by installing four groundwater
monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) and one continuous Geoprobe® boring _
(GP-1) from which a discrete water sample will be collected
This work plan includes a brief discussion of site background, previous investigations,
proposed scope of work, and schedule Field and laboratory procedures are presented as
Attachment A
SITE BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS
The site is an active Circle K Facility located at 16420 Cambridge Street in Lathrop,
California On November 10, 1997 three underground storage tanks (USTs), product
dispensers, and associated product lines were removed from the site Approximately
1,241 tons of hydrocarbon-impacted soil was removed from beneath the USTs and in
the area of the new UST pit and transported to Forward Landfill in Manteca for
disposal In addition, approximately 17,000 gallons of hydrocarbon-impacted
groundwater was removed from the new UST pit and transported to a permitted facility
for treatment
Soil samples collected from beneath the former UST complex were reported to contain
• concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) ranging from 130
to 5,800 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) Benzene was reported in two of the six
samples collected at concentrations of 0 52 and 3 6 mg/kg Methyl tertiary butyl ether
I 1 31 5 5unwf Cold Circle Suite M • Rancho Cordova California 95742 6534 (91 6) 858-2350 FAX (916) 858-2 65
