Tune 10, 1998 <br /> Page 2 <br /> • (MtBE) was reported in two of the six samples at concentrations of 0 19 and 3 6 mg/kg <br /> Total lead was not detected in any of the samples analyzed <br /> Based on recent groundwater monitoring data from. the California Department of Water <br /> Resources (DWR), depth to water is anticipated to be encountered between 13 and 15 <br /> feet below ground surface (bgs) Historical depths to groundwater obtained from the <br /> DNVR report a historical shallow depth of 6 feet bgs to a deep depth of 33-112 feet bgs <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work proposed for this investigation will include the installation of four <br /> groundwater monitoring wells and one continuous core GeoprobeO boring with a <br /> discrete water sample to delineate the lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbons in the <br /> soil and groundwater A continuous core will be collected from the Geoprobea boring <br /> to investigate geological conditions on site <br /> As required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration(OSHA) Standard <br /> "Hazardous Waste-Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 CFR <br /> 1910 120), and by California Occupational Ijealth and Safety Administration <br /> (Cal-OSHA) "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (CCR <br /> Title 8, Section 5192), PEG will prepare a Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan prior to <br /> the commencement of fieldwork The Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan will be <br /> . reviewed by the field staff and contractors before beginning field operations at the site <br /> The specific scope of work is discussed below <br /> O Monitoring Well Installation Four proposed groundwater <br /> monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) will be installed at the <br /> general locations shown on Figure 2 The proposed wells will be <br /> installed 15 feet below the current water level and will be screened <br /> from 5 feet above All work will be done in accordance with the <br /> permits obtained by the San Joaquin County Department of <br /> Environmental Management and the City of Stockton <br /> • Geoprobe® Boring. One continuous core GeoprobeO boring <br /> (GP-1) will be driven in the general location shown on Figure 2 The <br /> boring will extend five feet beyond the historic,groundwater low of <br /> 33-1/2 feet to approximately 39 feet bgs A discrete water sample <br /> will then be collected <br /> Soil Selection and Analysis Soil samples will be collected every <br /> five vertical feet to the borings A continuous core sample will be <br /> collected from the deep boring to analyze geological conditions on <br /> site Selected soil samples will be submitted to a California State- <br /> certified laboratory and analyzed for the presence of TPH-g, benzene, <br /> • toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and MtBE based on odor, <br /> discoloration or other anomalous Site conditions furthermore, two <br /> selected samples, one From the Geoprobe® boring and one from a <br /> o 1 ou, I IkAV111 AN <br />
