. Quarterly Report - Fourth Quarter 2005 <br /> FLAG CITY CHEVRON <br /> 6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Richard Bokides,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE)has prepared this <br /> quarterly report for 6421 Capitol Avenue (the site), Lodi, California The report documents <br /> procedures and results for ground water monitoring performed at the site between 28 and 29 March <br /> 2005 (first quarter) The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site structures and monitoring well <br /> locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> The objectives the of first quarter investigation was to characterize, assess and monitor dissolved <br /> methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground water and to characterize ground water <br /> flow direction and gradient <br /> The enclosed report was prepared as required by California Regional Water Quality Control Board- <br /> Central Valley Region (RWQCB) Cleanup and Abatement Order No 5-00-700, dated 01 March <br /> 2000,and was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the RWQCB for investigation <br /> of underground storage tank (UST) sites Background information and a description of prior <br /> investigations at the site were included in AGE's Final Remediation Plan, dated 31 August 2000 <br /> Between November 2000 and 17 August 2004,a total volume of approximately 27,086,201 gallons <br /> of MTBE-impacted ground water was treated at the site utilizing ground water pump-and-treat <br /> technology and carbon filtration However,in the AGE-prepared Quarterly Report-Second Quarter <br /> 2004(dated 30 July 2004),AGE requested cessation of the Flag City Chevron ground water pump- <br /> and-treat system due to the lack of cost effectiveness for the clean-up of MTBE-impacted ground <br /> water In a letter dated 13 August 2004,the RWQCB concurred with AGE's request,and all ground <br /> water pump-and-treat operations were suspended at the site on 17 August 2004 <br /> 2.0. GROUND WATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING <br /> On 28 and 29 March 2005, ground water monitoring and sampling were performed at 39 single-or <br /> multi-level ground water monitoring wells(MW-1 through MW-20),in addition,grab water samples <br /> were collected from two San Joaquin County service area No 31 municipal water wells(CSA-1 and <br /> CSA-2)on 28 March 2005 Quarterly groundwater monitoring procedures for the site were outlined <br /> in the AGE-prepared Work Plan Addendum, dated 28 January 1998, and approved by the San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD)by letter dated 24 February 1998 As- <br /> built monitoring well construction details are summarized in Table 1 <br /> A coordinated effort was made with Three B's Truck Plaza (14749 Thornton Road, Lodi CA) to <br /> conduct ground water monitoring activities concurrently, the Three B's Truck Plaza ground water <br /> elevation results and analytical results are in Appendix A <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
