el <br /> • 15 October 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br /> Page 3 of I 1 <br /> of one building structure, six fuel dispensers, three 12,000-gallon gasoline USTs and one 12,000- <br /> gallon diesel UST A site plan depicting ground water monitoring wells, ground water extraction <br /> wells, ground water treatment system and site boundaries is depicted in Figure 2, a schematic <br /> diagram of the GAC/SunSolve ground water treatment system is depicted in Figure 3 The flow path <br /> of the proposed discharge is depicted in Figure 4 Diagrams of the extent of petroleum- and fuel <br /> oxygenated-impacted ground water were included in Problem Assessment Report, dated 19 June <br /> 2000 <br /> 1 5 Sensitive Receptors <br /> The Rocky's Restaurant domestic drinking water well (RDW-I) at 14659 Thornton Road is located <br /> approximately 150 feet west of the Flag City Chevron site, the Three B's Truck Plaza domestic <br /> drinking water well (DW-1) at 14749 Thornton Road is located approximately 450 feet west of the <br /> site A San Joaquin County municipal water well system (CSA-2) is located approximately 700 feet <br /> southeast of the site, a second San Joaquin County municipal water well system (CSA-1) is located <br /> approximately 1,600 feet southeast of the site A map depicting all water supply wells within '/2-mile <br /> of the site is depicted in Figure 5 <br /> 1 6 Anticipated Ground Water Treatment Discharge <br /> Ground water will be extracted from each well at pumping rates between 3 and 6 gallons per minute <br /> (GPM) utilizing dedicated, submersible Grundfos pumps and routed through 2-inch diameter PVC <br /> piping to a multi-media ground water treatment system at a total treatment rate of 25 GPM <br /> Following treatment, water will be discharged utilizing 2-inch diameter PVC underground piping <br /> at 25 GPM into a conveyance ditch located approximately 450 feet south of the site, the conveyance <br /> ditch discharges directly into the White Slough The flow path of the proposed discharge is depicted <br /> in Figure 4 AGE has reached an agreement with the property owner(Mr Raymond Coldani) of the <br /> conveyance ditch to not exceed a discharge rate of 25,GPM <br /> 1 7 General Operations And Maintenance Procedures Of Ground Water Treatment System <br /> The ground water extraction.well pumps and the process pump will be controlled by Pu npTec <br /> controllers, each pump will operate independently on a separate controller Pump controls will be <br /> supplied by an amperage sensing/time control switch This switch will detect any decrease in <br /> amperage when water level drops below the intake from any of the Grundfos pumps <br /> A battery-powered ground water flow meter'and total flow indicator will be installed at the inlet of <br /> the treatment system for continuous measurements Measurements will be monitored daily for the <br /> first two-weeks (start-up period) and on a weekly basis thereafter <br /> f Advanced CeoFnnronmental,inc. <br /> ' i <br />
