A l L'i
• 15 October 2000
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
The process pump, located behind the holding tank, will be controlled by electrode switches placed
at various levels in the holding tank An emergency shut-off switch will be located immediately
below the top of the holding tank An Intermediate pump-on switch will be placed approximately
8-inches below the emergency shut-off switch to activate the process pump Intermediate pump-off
switches will be utilized near the bottom of the holding tank to turn the process pump off
One 750-gallon poly tank equipped with a suspended-solids pre-filter will be used to temporarily
store extracted water prior to processing The tank will be equipped with various level control
switches to control the rate at which extracted water is introduced into the treatment vessels, to
provide safety shutoff capabilities and to allow coarse sediment to settle out prior to treatment The
process pump is located directly behind the holding tank
The first stage of treatment media will contain two 2,500-pound GAC absorption vessels designed
to adsorb TPH-g, TPH-d and BTEX compounds, the final stage of treatment media will contain two
2,500-pound SunSolve absorption vessels, a liquid-phase filtration media specifically designed to
adsorb MTBE and TBA Sample ports are located between all vessels to allow detection of media
break through and to obtain final discharge samples The system layout is depicted in Figure 3
• l 8 Ground Water Analysis
Chlorinated volatile hydrocarbons (EPA Method 8260), aromatic volatile hydrocarbons (EPA
Method 8020) and total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (EPA Method
8015M/5030) have been sampled at site in monthly/quarterly ground water monitoring events and
grab ground water samples collected from soil borings and the results submitted to the RWQCB in
quarterly reports, results were tabulated in Problem Assessment Report, dated 19 June 2000
A grab sample from EW-1, was collected on 06 October 2000 and submitted to a DHS-certified
Iaboratory for analysis of lead, chlorinated pesticides and general minerals Copies of the laboratory
reports are included In Appendix B
2.0. SITE HYDROGEOLOGY
In accordance with Section B of Attachment A from General Order 5-00-119, AGE has evaluated
the following mentioned site hydrogeology characteristics -
2 1 Depth To Ground Water
Review of historical depth to ground water maps published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control
•
.Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
