Quarterly Report - Third Quarter 2004 <br /> FLAG CITY CHEVRON <br /> 6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Richard Bokides,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE)has prepared this - <br /> quarterly report for 6421 Capitol Avenue (the site), Lodi, California The report documents <br /> procedures and results for ground water monitoring and remediation performed at the site between <br /> 15 June 2004 and 15 September 2004 (third quarter) The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site <br /> structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> The enclosed report was prepared as required by California Regional Water Quality Control Board- <br /> Central Valley Region (RWQCB) Cleanup and Abatement Order No 5-00-700, dated 01 March <br /> 2000, and was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the RWQCB for investigation <br /> of underground storage tank (UST) sites Background information and a description of prior <br /> investigations at the site were included in AGE's Final Remediation Plan, dated 31 August 2000 <br /> In the AGE-prepared Quarterly Report-Second Quarter 2004(dated 30 July 2004),AGE requested <br /> cessation of the Flag City Chevron ground water pump-and-treat system due to the lack of cost <br /> effectiveness for the clean-up of MTBE-impacted ground water In a letter dated 13 August 2004, <br /> the RWQCB concurred with AGE's request and granted permission to cease all ground water pump- <br /> and-treat operations and all monitoring associated with the pump-and-treat system Therefore, in <br /> accordance with the above RWQCB-approval letter, all ground water pump-and-treat operations <br /> were suspended at the site on 17 August 2004 <br /> The obi ectivcs the of third quarter investigations were to characterize, assess and monitor dissolved <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground water, to <br /> characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to monitor ground water pump-and-treat <br /> remediation progress at the site The following is a brief summary of third quarter site assessment <br /> and remediation activities <br /> Y Between 15 June and 17 August 2004 - Ground water pump-and-treat remediation was <br /> continued at the site utilizing extraction wells EW-4,EW-5,EW-7,EW-8 and EW-10,a total <br /> of approximately 885,468 gallons of treated Flag City Chevron ground water was discharged <br /> into a conveyance ditch located approximately 450 feet south of the site <br /> u 15 July 2004 - Monthly monitoring event at the ground water pump-and-treat remediation <br /> system <br /> e 17 August 2004 - Ground water pump-and-treat operations suspended at the site <br /> • 13 and 14 September 2004 - Quarterly ground water monitoring event (third quarter 2004) <br /> at wells MW-1 through MW-19 <br /> Advanced GeoEnwronmental,Inc <br />
