30 January 2004
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
effluent sample reported a total of zero fish mortalities after 96 hours The laboratory report
concluded that there was no significant mortalities observed in the test The bioassay analysis is
summarized in Table 3, laboratory reports are in Appendix C
Utilizing an ICM water analyzer in the field, EC values were monitored on 06 November, on 19
November and on 09 December 2003 at concentrations between 670 [.mhos/cm and 1,246
µmhos/cm, pH values were monitored at between 7 12 and 7 39, and temperature values were
recorded at between 13 0 °C and 18 1 °C,respectively Field monitoring results are summarized in
Table 2
Utilizing a Blue-White Industries F-2000 flow meter, flow rates were measured and recorded on the
above dates to be between 20 00 GPM and 25 00 GPM (Appendix A)
2 6 RECEIVING WATER MONITORING RESULTS
In accordance with the requirements ofRWQCB Monitoring and Reporting Program No 5-00-119,
monthly ground water pump-and-treat receiving water(R-1 and R-2)monitoring was performed for
. total dissolved solids, flow rate, specific conductivity(EC), pH and turbidity on 06 November, on
19 November and on 09 December 2003 In addition, observations were noted in a log book
(Appendix A) of floating or suspended matter, discoloration, bottom deposits, aquatic life, visible
film-sheen-coatings, fungi and potential nuisance conditions
Water monitoring could not be performed from R-1 during the 06 November, 19 November or the
09 December 2003 monthly monitoring events because there was no upstream water flow Because
there was no upstream flow at R-1, the downstream flow rate at R-2 appeared to be equal to the
ground water pump and treat effluent flow rate of approximately 20 to 25 GPM
Observations logged in a notebook on the above dates indicated that there was no floating or
suspended matter, discoloration, bottom deposits or visible film-sheen-coatings at R-2, however
there was a small amount of algae growth at the bottom of the ditch Visible aquatic life at R-2
included minnows, insects and frogs Potential nuisance conditions observed at R-2 included trash
in ditch(i e fast food containers, paper and drybush cuttings),no potential nuisance conditions were
observed at R-1
Utilizing an ICM water analyzer and a YSI-50 dissolved oxygen meter in the field, dissolved oxygen
was monitored at R-2 on the above dates at concentrations between 2 13 mg/1 and 4 50 mg/l, EC
values were recorded on the same days between 686µmhos/cm and 934µmhos/cm,pH values were
recorded at between 7 14 and 7 64, temperatures were measured at between 14 7 °C and 17 7 °C
i
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,the
