Work Plan Addendum
FLAG CITY CHEVRON
6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr Richard Bokides of the Bokides Family Limited Partnership, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this work plan addendum (WPA) for additional
assessment at 6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, California(site) The location of the site is illustrated on
Figure i A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 Background information for the site was
previously included in the Problem Assessment Report, dated 20 June 2000, prepared by AGE
Tlus WPA is in accordance with a directive letter from the California Regional Water Quality
Control Board(RWQCB)-Central Valley Region, dated 22 August 2003 and is a continuation of the
Work Plan Addendum, dated 09 May 2002 A copy of the RWQCB. directive-letter is included in
Appendix A
Between the March 2002 and the September 2003 ground water monitoring events, significant
concentrations of dissolved MTBE were detected from well MW-8A (screened 40 to 50 feet bsg)
after nine consecutive quarters of being non-detect(Table 1) Due to the repeated detection of MTBE
at well MW-8A, three soil bonngs (P-36, P-37 and P-38) were advanced near MW-8 and grab
. ground water samples collected during October 2002 to further assess the above MTBE-impact
(Table 2) However, laboratory analysis of the grab ground water samples collected from P-36,P-37
and P-38 only detected TPH-d and low concentrations ofBTEX constituents(toluene and xylenes),
MTBE was not detected in any of the above grab ground water samples The laboratory further
indicated that the detection of TPH-d was not fuel related, but possibly the result of some type of
plastic or pesticide
Because MTBE was not detected during the October 2002 site assessment activities, and because
MTBE has continued to be detected from well MW-8A,AGE is proposing to advance four Geoprobe
soil bonngs at the site for collection of soil and ground water samples to assess the migration
pathway of MTBE-impacted ground water detected at MW-8A(Table 1) Additionally,one(1)off-
site Geoprobe soil boring is proposed to assess the area north of MW-8 on Banner Avenue (San
Joaquin County right-of-way),between the McDonalds Restaurant property(6440 West Banner)and
New West Petroleum (6437 West Banner Avenue)
This work plan is prepared in accordance with California Regional Water Quality Control Board -
Central Valley Region (RWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tanks
(UST) sites
•
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc.
