SCOPE OF WORK <br /> In accordance with RWQCB-directive letters dated 08 August 2001 and 07 November 2001, <br /> remediation of off-site ground water is necessary to protect the Three B's domestic well and the two <br /> CSA municipal wells from becoming impacted by dissolved MTBE AGE anticipates initiating <br /> installation of the off-site pump-and-treat ground water remediation system by 15 February 2001 <br /> pending RWQCB approval of the FRP addendum <br /> Remediation within the MTBE-impacted area off-site will consist of the following tasks <br /> • Permitting,planning and pre-field work activities, <br /> • Installation of remediation wells, <br /> • Installation of underground remediation piping system, <br /> • Monitoring and maintenance, <br /> • Progress/confirmation sampling <br /> Each of these tasks are discussed below in detail <br /> 5 1 PERMITTING, PLANNING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable permits will be obtained from San Joaquin County Public Works and San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services- Environmental Health Division prior to initiation of the off-site remediation <br /> project San Joaquin County encroachment permits will be necessary for trenching activities from <br /> the Rocky's Restaurant property, through Thornton Road to Flag City Chevron AGE anticipates a <br /> 30-day turnaround time for San Joaquin County approval of the encroachment permit As required <br /> by the PHS-EHD, drilling permits will be necessary for installation of ground water extraction wells <br /> and a health and safety plan prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance <br /> Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, 1985) AGE <br /> anticipates a 14-day turnaround time for PHS-EHD approval of the permit Prior to digging <br /> activities, each proposed digging location will be clearly marked at least 48 hours in advance and <br /> a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert <br /> Advanced GeoEnvaroninental,Inc <br />
