' by EPA Method 8260) at concentrations of 100µg/l, 140µg/1 and 41 ug/l, respectively, on 13 June
2001,the influent water samples collected from extraction wells EW-2, EW-4, EW-5,EW-6, EW-7,
EW-8, EW-9 and EW-10 contained MTBE at concentrations less than 140µg/1 with an average of
' 28µg/1 The laboratory analysis did not detect any other constituents of concern Analytical results
of pump- and-treat influent-water samples are summarized in Tables 1 and 6, laboratory reports are
in Appendix B
2 5 TREATMENT CANISTER MONITORING
' Water samples were collected on 09 April, 03 May and 13 June 2001 from intermediate sampling
ports located at the outlet of granular activated carbon (GAC) media vessel no 1 (GAC-1), at the
' outlet of granular activated carbon media vessel no 2 (GAC-2) and at the outlet of the Sunsolve
media vessel no 1 (SS-1)
rLaboratory analysis of the 03 May 2001 water sample collected from the outlet of GAC-2 detected
MTBE(utilizing EPA Method 8260) at a concentration of 12 µg/l,no other petroleum constituents
of concern were detected from intermediate samples located at the outlets of GAC-1, GAC-2 and
SS-1 during the April, May and June 2001 sampling events Analytical results of pump-and-treat
intermediate-water samples are summarized in Table 1, laboratory reports are in Appendix B
26 EFFLUENT MONITORING
In accordance with the requirements of RWQCB Monitoring and Reporting Program No 5-00-119,
monthly ground water pump-and-treat effluent monitoring was performed for flow rate, specific
conductivity(EC),pH, temperature,total dissolved solids (TDS),TPH-g, TPH-d, TPH-mo, BTEX,
MTBE, methanol, ethanol, DIPE, TAME, ETBE, TBA, nitrate and total lead on 09 April, 03 May
and 04 June 2001, additionally, ground water pump-and-treat effluent quarterly sampling for
bioassay analysis was performed on 18 June 2001
Laboratory analysis of pump-and-treat effluent grab water samples collected on 09 April, 03 May
and 04 June 2001 did not detect any petroleum constituents of concern, nitrate as NO, was detected
at concentrations of 41 milligrams per liter(mg/L), 36 mg/L and 50mg/L, respectively, TDS values
were reported at 620 mg/L, 610 mg/L and 620 mg/L,respectively Analytical results are summarized
in Tables 1 and 2, laboratory reports are in Appendices B and C
A bioassay laboratory analysis was performed on the grab sample collected from the effluent stream
on 18 June 2001 The analysis utilized sample factors of 0 milliliter(ml), 125 ml, 500 ml, 1,000 ml,
1,500 ml and 2,000 ml Each sample factor was tested with 20 Fathead minnow fish and a dilution
