1 <br /> 13 April 2001 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br />' Page 4of14 <br />' 2 5 TREATMENT CANISTER MONITORING <br /> Water samples were collected on 03 January, 02 February and 08 March 2001 from Intermediate <br />' sampling ports located at the outlet of granular activated carbon(GAC) media vessel no 1 (GAC-1), <br /> at the outlet of granular activated carbon media vessel no 2 (GAC-2) and at the outlet of the <br /> Sunsolve media vessel no 1 (SS-1) <br />' Laboratoryanalysis of a 03 Jan 2001 water sample collected GAC-ys airy p cted from the outlet of GAC 1 detected <br /> MTBE (utilizing EPA Method 8260) at a concentration of 71 µg/l, laboratory analysis of the 02 <br /> February 2001 water sample collected from the outlets of GAC-1 and GAC-2 detected MTBE at <br /> concentrations of 5 4 and 3 9 µg/1, respectively, MTBE was not detected in intermediate water <br />' samples collected during the 08 March 2001 sampling event No other petroleum constituents of <br /> concern were detected during the three sampling events <br /> I2 6 EFFLUENT MONITORING <br /> a <br /> In accordance with monthly requirements of RWQCB Monitoring and Reporting Program No 5-00- <br /> lie 119, ground water pump and treat effluent monitoring was performed for flow rate, specific <br /> conductivity(EC), pH, temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS),TPH-g, TPH-d, TPH-mo, BTEX, <br /> MTBE, methanol, ethanol,DIPE, TAME, ETBE, TBA, nitrate and total lead on 03 January, 02 and <br /> 06 February, 08 March and 09 March 2001, additionally, ground water pump and treat effluent <br /> quarterly sampling for bioassay analysis was performed on 09 March 2001 <br /> Analysis of pump and treat effluent grab water samples collected on 03 January and 09 March 2001 <br /> detected nitrate as NO3 at concentrations of 49 and 10 2 1,4g11, respectively EC values were reported <br /> in effluent water samples on 03 January, 06 February and 09 March 2001 at 925, 994 and 975 <br /> µmhos/cm, pH values were reported on the same days at 7 8, 7 3 and 7 6 Laboratory analysis of <br /> effluent water samples collected on 03 January and 09 March 2001 reported TDS values at 670 and <br /> 610 mg/L,respectively Analytical and field monitoring results are summarized in Table 2 <br /> Laboratory analysis of grab water samples collected from the effluent stream on 03 January, 02 <br /> February and 08 March 2001 did not detect any petroleum constituents of concern, analytical results <br /> are summarized in Table 1 <br /> A bioassay laboratory analysis was performed on the grab sample collected from the effluent stream <br /> on 09 March 2001 The analysis utilized sample factors of 0 ml, 125 ml, 500 ml, 1,000 ml, 1,500 ml <br /> and 2,000 ml Each sample factor was tested with 20 Fathead minnow fish and a dilution volume of <br /> 2,000 ml of di-ionized water, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO) and temperature parameters were <br /> . monitored and fish mortalities were counted over 96 hours The bioassay analysis reported a steady <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
