13 April 2001
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
decrease irlH and DO m each ach sample factor over the 96 hour period, the analysis reported
decreasing pH and DO values with increasing sample factors Temperature measurements vaned
between 20 2 and 20 8 degrees Celsius The laboratory reported that there were no fish mortalities
in the above referenced sample The bioassay analysis is summarized in Table 3, laboratory reports
are in Appendix D
2 7 RECEIVING C IV1NG WATER MONITORING
In accordance with monthly requirements of RWQCB Monitoring and Reporting Program No 5-00-
119,ground water pump and treat receiving water(R 1 and R-2)monitoring was performed for flow
rate, specific conductivity(EC),pH and turbidity on 03 January, 02 and 06 February and 09 March
2001, observations were noted in a log book (Appendix A) for floating or suspended matter,
discoloration, bottom deposits, aquatic life, visible film-sheen-coatings, fungi and potential nuisance
conditions Currently, there is no upstream flow in the ditch and therefore, water monitoring could
not be performed at R-1 Receiving water quarterly sampling for total dissolved solids was
performed at R-2 on 09 March 2001
• Because there is currently no upstream flow at R-1 and the area is dry, the downstream flow rate at
R-2 appears to be equal to the ground water pump and treat effluent flow rate of 23 GPM
Observations logged in a notebook indicate that there was no floating or suspended matter,
discoloration, bottom deposits, aquatic life or visible film-sheen-coatings,however there was a small
amount of algae growth at the bottom of the ditch Potential nuisance conditions observed included
trash in ditch (i e fast food containers, tire, paper and dry bush cuttings)
Analysis of grab water samples collected from R-2 on 03 January, 06 February and 09 March 2001
detected dissolved oxygen at concentrations of 8 9, 7 6 and 8 2 mg/l, respectively, EC values on the
same days were detected at 913, 994 and 1,005 tmhos/em, respectively, pH values were detected
on the same days at 7 4, 7 3 and 7 3, respectively Turbidity was detected on 03 January and 09
March 2001 at 0 2 and 0 6 NTUs An R-2 water sample collected on 09 March 2001 had a TDS of
620 mg/L Analytical results of are summarized in Table 2, field measurements and laboratory
reports are in Appendix A and Appendix D, respectively
28 MASS-VOLUME REMOVAL CALCULATIONS
Based on effluent flow meter observations (Appendix A), approximately 2,474,726 gallons of
I MTBE-impacted water were treated during the first quarter 2001, a total volume of approximately
3,479,771 gallons of MTBE-impacted water has been treated at the site since the start-up period in
November 2000
Advanced GeoEnviroamental,Inc
