09 May 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br /> Page 5 of 8 <br /> will be advanced to a depth of 60 feet bsg utilizing a truck-mounted,hollow-stem drill ng and 8-inch <br /> diameter hollow-stem augers, two soil boxings for installation of ground water monitoring/extraction <br /> wells MW-15 and MW-18 will be advanced to 75 feet bsg utilizing 8-inch diameter hollow-stem <br /> augers, one soil boring for installation of ground water monitoring/extraction well MW-16 will be <br /> advanced to 25 feet bsg utilizing 8-mch diameter hollow-stem augers, one soil boring for installation <br /> of ozone sparge well OS-1 will be advanced to a depth of 72 feet bsg utilizing 12-mch diameter <br /> hollow-stem augers Soil cuttings generated during drilling activities will be placed on and covered <br /> with plastic sheeting, rmseate will be containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon <br /> drums, and stored on-site in an area lacking public access Disposal alternatives for rinseate and <br /> stockpiled soil will be selected based on results of a laboratory analysis <br /> Soil borings P-36,P-37 and P-38 will be advanced to approximately 60 feet bsg utilizing a Geoprobe <br /> 5400 equipped with 1 125-inch diameter probe rods and 2 15-inch diameter soil sampler using <br /> "direct push" technology Cuttings generated during drilling activities will be placed on plastic <br /> sheeting and covered Rmseate will be containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon <br /> drums, and stored on-site in an area lacking public access Disposal alternatives will be evaluated <br /> based on results of soil and water analysis <br /> Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals, beginning at a depth of 5 feet bsg for logging <br /> purposes, selected`soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health <br /> Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents <br /> Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d <br /> respectively) in accordance with EPA Methods 8015 Modified/5030/3550, <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8020, and <br /> Methanol, ethanol, 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), ethylene dibromide (EDB), tertiary <br /> butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tert butyl ether (ETBE), tert amyl methyl <br /> ether(TAME) and MTBE by EPA Method 8260 Modified <br /> At least one grab ground water sample will be collected from each soil borings P-36, P-37 and P-38 <br /> utilizing a Geoprobe water sampling assembly For the sampling assembly, probe rods will be fitted <br /> with a retractable ground water screen and advanced to the total depth of each probe boring, the rods <br /> will then be pulled upward to allow ground water to flow into the screen A bailer fitting will then <br /> be placed on the end of3/6-inch diameter polyethylene tubing, inserted through the rod assembly into <br /> the exposed screen, through which water will be manually pumped The water samples will be <br /> analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for the same constituents as the soil samples listed above <br /> Advanced GeoEnvsronmental,Inc <br />
