1 <br /> 15 January 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br /> tPage 8 of 16 <br /> t 2-inch diameter disposable polyethylene bailers, ground water samples were collected from the <br /> purged wells MW-8 through MW-13 utilizing 1/4-inch diameter polyethylene tubing Ground water <br /> samples were transferred into one-liter amber bottles without a preservative and into 40-m] EPA- <br /> approved VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative Care was <br /> taken to ensure that visible air bubbles were not present in the vials after filling and capping Ground <br /> water sample containers were labeled with the well designation, date, time, and sampler's initials <br />' Ground water sample collection from municipal water wells CSA-1, CSA-2 and domestic water <br /> wells RDW-I and DW-1 was achieved by opening a valve from each water well outlet sample port <br />' and-allowing each well pump to turn on and operate for a minimum of 15 minutes to purge the wells <br /> and then collecting the running water directly into the sample containers <br />' Ground water samples were collected at sampling ports located near the tops of extraction wells <br /> EW-2, EW-4, EW-5, EW-6, EW-7, EW-8, EW-9 and EW-10, each extraction well was allowed to <br />' be operational for at least 30 minutes prior to collecting samples directly into the sample containers <br /> 3 3 LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Each ground water sample was logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed in a chilled container and <br />' transported to a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for analysis <br /> for <br />' D TPH-g, TPH-d and TPH-mo by EPA Methods 5030/8015 Modified and 3550/8015 <br /> Modified, respectively, <br />' a BTEX and MTBE by EPA Method 8020, and <br /> • Methanol, ethanol, 1,2-DCA, EDB, TBA,DIPE, ETBE, TAME and MTBE by EPA Method <br /> 8260 Modified <br /> 1 <br /> 34 FINDINGS <br /> Ground water elevation, flow direction and gradient were determined from field data collected on <br />' 11 December 2001, the contaminant impact to ground water was quantified by laboratory analysis <br /> of water samples collected on 12 & 13 December 2001 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvirontnentai,Inc <br /> r <br />
