' 15 January 2002
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
' 3 4 1 Ground Water Elevation and Gradient
During the December 2001 monitoring event, depths to ground water in Flag City Chevron wells
' MW-1 through MW-13 were measured between 13 60 and 17 15 feet below the tops of the well
casings, ground water elevations were calculated to be between 5 08 and 5 69 feet below mean sea
level Ground water elevation at the site generally increased an average 2 01 feet between the
' September 2001 and the December 2001 ground water monitoring events The December 2001
ground water elevation data collected from the Flag City Chevron site and the adjacent Three B's
Truck Plaza site is depicted in Figures 3, 4, 5 and 6
' Ground water elevation data collected in the First Zone Aquifer 5 to 35 feet bsg) in the area of Flag
' City Chevron monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6A, MW-7 and MW-10A
indicated that local ground water flow direction was radially inward in a cone of depression in the
area between wells MW-1 and MW-2 at an approximate gradient of 0 002 ItJft or less (Figure 3), the
' ground water elevation data in the area of Flag City Chevron wells MW-12A, MW-13A and Three
B's Truck Plaza wells MW-1 through MW-6 indicated that the ground water flow direction was
generally toward the east at an approximate gradient of 0 001 ft/ft or less
Ground water flow direction in the Second Zone Aquifer(40 to 60 feet bsg) in the area of Flag City
Chevron monitoring wells MW-8A and MW-9A was inferred to be toward the southeast at an
approximate gradient of 0 002 ft/ft or less (Figure 4), ground water flow direction in the area of
MW-6B,MW-11A, MW-12B and MW-13B was inferred toward the east-southeast at a gradient of
0 002 or less
Ground water flow direction in the Secondary Aquifer Zone (85 to 105 feet bsg) in the area of Flag
City Chevron monitoring wells MW-8B, MW-9B,MW-11C,MW-12C and MW-13C was inferred
' to be toward the east-southeast at an approximate gradient of 0 001 ft/ft or less (Figure 5)
Ground water flow direction in the Primary Aquifer Zone (130 to 150 feet bsg) in the area of Flag
' City Chevron monitoring wells MW-8C, MW-9C, MW-11D, MW-12D and MW-13D was inferred
to be toward the east-southeast at an approximate gradient of 0 001 ft/ft or less(Figure 6)
3 4 2 Laboratory Results of Ground Water Samples
' During the December 2001 sampling event, TPH-g was detected in a water sample collected from
MW-12A at a concentration of 62 µg/1, TPH-d was detected in samples collected from MW-1,
MW-8A, MW-8C, MW-9A, MW-IOC, MW-12A and MW-13A at concentrations as high as 310
kig/l, and TPH-mo was detected in a water sample collected from MW-13A at a concentration of 800
,ug/l The laboratory indicated that the sample chromatograms from MW-8A, MW-9A, MW-10C,
Advanced GeaEnvaronmental,Inc
