I
15 January 2002
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
' According to the fourth quarter 2001 update letter, the BFLP is in the process of obtaining an "out-
of-agency" water service for the Rocky's Restaurant At this time, the San Joaquin County Public
Works is reviewing engineering plans (prepared by Dillon&Murphy Engineering) for a permanent
' water connection to County Service Area No 31
The results of pump and treat ground water remediation between 01 October and 31 December 2001
' are as follows
• Approximately 2,043,809 gallons of MTBE-impacted ground water were continuously
' extracted from wells EW-4 and EW-5 and selectively extracted from wells EW-2, EW-6,
EW-7, EW-8, EW-9 and EW-10, which are completed in the First Zone aquifer
' • A total volume of approximately 9,303,630 gallons of MTBE-impacted water has been
treated at the site since the start-up period in November 2000
' • Dissolved MTBE was detected(utilizing EPA Method 8260M) in water samples collected
from the extraction wells at concentrations between 2 3 and 53 ,ug/l, the greatest MTBE-
impacted water was collected from extraction well EW-4 near the southwest corner of the
liesite
• Dissolved MTBE was detected from grab samples collected at the influent-end of the
treatment system at concentrations between 20 and 23 µg11
• Laboratory analysis of three grab water samples collected at the effluent-end of the pump and
treat system did not detect any constituents of concern
' fl Between 06 September and 15 October 2001, the mass of MTBE-impacted ground water
processed during operation of the pump and treat system was calculated to be 8,220,499
' pounds Multiplying the average MTBE concentration (15 4g/1) by the pounds of MTBE-
extracted water yielded a mass of approximately 0 12 pounds of MTBE removed from the
extracted ground water(Table 8, Appendix D)
' Between 15 October and 07 November 2001, the mass of MTBE-impacted ground water
processed during operation of the pump and treat system was calculated to be 3,976,449
pounds Multiplying the average MTBE concentration (21 5 µg/1)by the pounds of MTBE-
extracted water yielded a mass of approximately 0 08 pounds of MTBE removed from
extracted ground water(Table 8, Appendix D)
' Between 07 November and 12 December 2001, the mass of MTBE-impacted ground water
processed during operation of the pump and treat system was calculated to be 6,437,298
pounds Multiplying the average MTBE concentration (20 µg11) by the pounds of MTBE-
extracted water yielded a mass of approximately 0 13 pounds of MTBE removed from
extracted ground water(Appendix D)
Advanced GeoEnviroumental,Inc
I
