. 19 July 2000
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
7 1 2 Laboratory Analysis of Ground Water Samples
Each ground water sample was logged on a Cham-of custody form, placed in a chilled container and
transported to a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for analysis
for
• TPH-d by EPA Method 8015M
• TPH-g, BTEX, methanol, ethanol, 1,2-DBA, EDB, MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, TAME by
EPA Method 8260B
713 Findings
Ground water elevation, flow direction and gradient were determined from field data collected on
28 April 2000, the contaminant-Impact to ground water was assessed from the laboratory data
7 14 Relative Ground Water Elevation and Gradient
• Ground water elevation at the site decreased an average 1 80 feet between the March 2000 and the
April 2000 ground water monitoring events Ground water elevation and gradient is presented In
Section 6 2 Depth to ground water, ground water elevation, and well screen intervals are
summarized In Table 5 The ground water elevation data collected on 28 April 2000 from the Flag
City Chevron site is depicted In Figure 5 Ground water flow direction was generally southwest and
northwest at a gradient of approximately 0 002 ft /ft and 0 003 ft /ft , respectively
7 1 5 Laboratory Results of Ground Water Samples
During the April 2000 sampling event, TPH-g, TPH-d, and BTEX compounds were not detected In
any of the analyzed ground water monitoring well samples above the laboratory reporting limits
TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in the storm drain grab samples at concentrations of 56 µg/1 and
1 8,000 ,ugll, respectively BTEX compounds were detected at concentrations-as high as 0 65 µg/1
MTBE was detected in ground water samples collected from the First Zone in wells MW-1, MW-2,
MW-4, MW-6A, and MW-7 at concentrations as high as 3,700 ug/l from MWA, MTBE was
detected In the Second Zone in the sample from MW-613 at a concentration of 7 2 µg/l MTBE was
detected in the Rocky's Restaurant domestic water well sample at a concentration of 20 ug/l TAME,
.
