19 July 2000
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
• corner of the UST pat and the storm water drain lane area are the source area(s) for MTBE,
TPH-d and TPH-g impacts
The results of ground water extraction from EW-1 during April, May and June 2000 are as follows
• Approximately 141,875 gallons of MTBE-impacted ground water were extracted from
EW-1
• Initial concentrations of dissolved MTBE were detected from EW-1 on 03 April 2000 at a
concentration of 1,800 µg/1
• During April 2000, MTBE was detected an four grab ground water samples collected from
EW-1 at an average 1,550 1cg/1
• During May 2000, MTBE was detected in three grab ground water samples collected from
EW-1 at an average 647 ,ug/l
• During June 2000, MTBE was detected in five grab ground water samples collected from
EW-1 at an average 240 ,ug/l
0 • The steadily decreasing concentrations of MTBE quantified in ground water samples
collected from EW-1 may indicate initial plume control and plume mass reduction in the area
0 of EW-1
The results from monthly ground water monitoring and sampling events performed an April, May
and June 2000 are as follows
• Ground water levels at the Flag City Chevron site fluctuated between 9 and 12 feet bsg
• Ground water flow direction at the site appeared to be oriented generally between northeast
and northwest at a general gradient between 0 002 and 0 003, due to the low gradient at the
site, slight variations in ground water measurements or changes of recharge/discharge of the
local ground water could greatly modify ground water flow direction
• The greatest concentrations of on-sate dissolved MTBE were detected in MW-1 at
concentrations as high as 5,700 ,ug/l, lesser concentrations of MTBE were detected on-site
from MW-2 and MW-4 at concentrations as high as 30/.cg/l and from MW-9A (screened 40
to 50 feet bsg) at concentrations as high as 180 ,ug/l
• The greatest concentrations of off-site dissolved MTBE were detected an MW-11 A(screened
40 to 50 feet bsg) and MW-11B (screened 65 to 75 feet bsg) at concentrations as high as 810
kcg/1 and from MW-13A (screened 10 to 20 feet bsg) at concentrations as high as 2,500µg11,
lesser concentrations of MTBE were detected off-site from MW-6B (screened 43 to 48 feet
Adianced CeOEnUronmental,Inc
